KATHMANDU, March 22: The Office of the Prime Minister has begun setting up an ‘action room’ to establish better coordination with the Chief Ministers and inspect the national pride projects.

Spokesperson at Prime Minister’s Office, Binod Bahadur Kunwar, informed that they had begun works to set up an action room at PM’s Office so that the Office would be technologically equipped for the PM KP Sharma Oli to talk directly to the Chief Ministers and conduct monitoring of 11 national pride projects.

Live meeting will be held with the Chief Ministers with tele-present system. Sashtrata Network Solution has initiated the works for it after winning the bidding, Kunwar added. It would be easier now for video conference.

Network would be established between the action room and video conference.
With this, PM can hold the meeting with Chief Ministers at any time they need. So, Chief Ministers would not be compelled to visit Kathmandu to merely hold meeting with the PM, according to the Spokesperson.

Issues as the national pride projects and other development activities would mainly feature the video conference. PM can hold meetings separately or collectively.

A 55 inch television, three tele-present camera and speaker would be installed in the action room, while a television, camera, mike and data transfer code in the video conference room. Action room would be spacious for 14 people while conference room for three.

Similarly, censor mike to be installed at the Office would show the picture of a persons speaking in the meeting and get televised at the Action Room.

PM Oli would monitor 11 national pride projects. IP cameras would be installed at national pride project areas. With this, central monitoring of Melamchi Drinking Water Project, Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Project, Gautam Buddha International Airport, Bheri-Babai Diversion, Rastrapati Chure Bhawar Conservation, Sikta Irrigation Project, Rani-Jamara Irrigation Project, Pokhara Regional International Airport, Mid-Hilly Pushpalal Highway, Postal Highway and Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track is ensured.

Two-month is allocated for setting up the room at the cost of 44.8 million.
