KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) lawmaker Pramod Sah has been arrested on Tuesday on the charge of vandalizing the Janakpur Airport yesterday.

Angry lawmakers Sah had allegedly forced into the Buddha Air’s counter and broke the computer and other office materials on Monday after the flight was delayed by two hours. He had also vandalized the VVIP lounge.

The police nabbed him from the VVIP lounge of the Tribhuvan International Airport when he was set to board a flight to Okhaldhunga.

He was elected to the House of Representatives from Sarlahi-1 in 2017 elections.

However, the RJPN has described Sah’s arrest as the government’s inclination toward dictatorship.

“Why would someone who fights for justice be arrested,” fumed Rajendra Mahato, RJPN presidium member and lawmaker, while talking to Reporters’ Club Nepal.

“It is a sign that the government is heading toward totalitarianism.”
