President accepts Council of Ministers recommendations for appointment of Governors

KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has appointed and confirmed the names of the new Governors to take charge in the various provinces with an official order today.

The Cabinet meeting which sat to finalize the names had sent the recommendations to the President.

President Bhandari accepted the recommendations and confirmed the followings names to take charge as the new Governor of the Provinces,

Shri Somnath Adhikari ‘Pyasi’ from Kaski for Province 1.

Shri Tikak Pariyar from Banke for Province 2.

Shri Bishnu Prasad Prasain from Jhapa for Province 3

Shri Amik Sherchan from Chitwan for Province 4 (Gandaki)

Shri Dharmanath Yadav from Siraha for Province 5

Shri Govinda Prasad Kalauni from Baitadi for Province 6 ( Karnali)

Shri Sharmila Kumari Panta from Chitwan for Province 7 ( Sudur Paschim)

The directions came from the spokesperson who confirmed the appointments from the President through an official letter dated November 4th, 2019.

The President appointed the new Governors with the rights vested in her by Nepal’s Constitution Section 163 subsections 2, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for the 5th of November at the President’s official residence in Sheetal Niwas.
