Dahal’s secretariat condemns media reports, says cabinet reorganization PM’s call

cabinet reshuffle

KATHMANDU, Nov 19: Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed dissatisfaction over the reports that he is unhappy with the prime minister’s preparation to reorganize the cabinet.

Dahal’s private secretariat Tuesday condemned such reports as “misleading” and added: “Comrade Prachanda has always frequently stressed that the cabinet reshuffle falls under the jurisdiction of the prime minister, and it is known to all.”

“We request not to run after such false information spread ignoring the codes of journalism.”

Dahal’s secretariat’s remarks come amid reports that Dahal is lobbying for giving continuity to the position of his daughter-in-law Bina Magar as water supply minister as Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli prepares to change ministers in his cabinet.

But Oli is undecided whether to reshuffle the cabinet immediately with the Nov 30 by-election in mind.

The prime minister is concerned about the outcome of upcoming by-election which could be affected if the cabinet is reshuffled now.
