PM Oli likely to reorganize the Council of Ministers today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) K.P.Sharma Oli is likely to reorganize the Council of Ministers (CoM) today. The meeting that was chaired by the PM yesterday had called all the Ministers serving under his administration and informed them of the reorganization.

He has also instructed all the Ministers not to attend any public function that may be held today.

He spoke to the Ministers yesterday regarding this decision and mounting pressure from party insiders to reorganize the Council of Ministers due to negative publicity received during the past several months.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister asked for evaluation from the current Ministers as for the work they have done for the past 21 months that the ruling party has been in power.

According to the internal sources, although the names have not been released yet, PM Oli is planning to let go of 5 ministers and 2 state ministers. The ones who are likely to lose their positions are Lal Babu Pandit, Thamamaya Thapa Magar, Matrika Prasad Yadav, Chakrapani Khanal, and Gokarna Bista.
