Newly-elected MP Bhattarai sworn in

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Newly-elected member of the House of Representatives Bidya Bhattarai has taken the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.

Deputy Speaker Shivamaya Tumbahamphe administered the oath of office and secrecy to Bhattarai at the federal parliament secretariat.

Bhattarai was elected to the lower house from Kaski-2 in the recent by-election.

The constituency was vacant after the then Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Prasad Adhikari died in a helicopter crash in Taplejung in February.

Bhattarai is the spouse of late Adhikari.
