Govt loosens lockdown, allows operation of large-scale industries, projects

KATHMANDU, April 3: The government has decided to loosen the lockdown allowing the operation of large-scale industries that produce essential supplies and big projects.

A meeting of the High-level Coordination Committee formed to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic took the decision to this effect, according to government Spokesperson Yuba Raj Khatiwada.

But such industries will require to ensure their workers remain inside the factories and follow the health protocol set by the government.

Likewise, the farmers will be allowed to harvest their crops without hiring any labor.

The government has enforced a nationwide lockdown until April 7
