Two Sun City residents test positive as Nepal’s cases climb to 16

COVID-19

KATHMANDU, April 14: Two of the three members of the same family from the Sun City Apartment in Pepsicola have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease.

A 58-year-old male and an 81-year-old female have tested positive through the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, said the Health and Population Ministry on its Facebook page on Tuesday—taking the number of cases to 16.

But the third member has tested negative in the first phase test, the Ministry added.

They were taken to the Patan Hospital in Lagankhel after they were tested positive during the rapid diagnostic test. They had returned to Kathmandu from London a month ago, it has been learned.

All three of them have been isolated in the hospital.

The health authorities have begun to test the other residents of the apartments for the possible infection.
