Bhandari gives contextual meaning to communist movement: Adhikari



KATHMANDU, June 28 : Central committee member of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Khagaraj Adhikari has said communist leader Madan Bhandari had introduced the world communist movement in Nepal from a different and new angle.

In his address to a programme organised here in commemoration of the late leader here today, the Adhikari said the late Bhandari interpreted and practiced the communist movement on the basis of ground reality. He was credited for enthusing a far-sighted vision in Nepal’s communist politics. Today marks the 69th birth anniversary of leader Bhandari and the Second National Tree Plantation Day. The programme was organised by the Rabindra Adhikari Memorial Foundation on the same occasions.

Foundation Chair and House of Representatives member Bidya Bhattarai said Bhandari had propounded the People’s Multi-Party Democracy as per Nepali context in the aftermath of the collapse of socialist system in the Soviet Union and in many countries in the eastern Europe in 1990’s.

NCP Kaski district committee member Jhapat Ranabhat spoke the need of further strengthening the party. On the occasion around 250 saplings of different species were planted at the Rabindra Memorial Garden. RSS
