KATHMANDU, Oct 4: CP Gajurel, Vice-Chairperson of CPN (Revolutionary Maoist), has termed the unity process announcement among the leftist parties CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center) and Naya Shakti Party as a big mistake.

Speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Wednesday, he said, “The leftist unity effort is a huge mistake. Their alliance and unity effort is rightist and reactionary move.”

In a dramatic turn of events, the three leftist parties, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Center) and Naya Shakti Party inking a six-point deal formally announced the electoral alliance and unity process on Tuesday. The party also formed a joint committee led by Oli and Dahal in order to coordinate the unification process.

“UML, Maoist Center and Naya Shakti are only trying to deceive people by saying that they would form alliance of the communist movement,” accused Gajurel adding, “It is not possible. United Communist Party is beyond realization.”

He, however, opined that the alliance among the three communist parties would bring a new u-turn into the Nepalese politics.

He accused UML of unmasking itself of being a true patriot. He added, “UML is showing its true color now. The party is a shame in the name of communist.”

He also blamed the Maoist Center of not being a true revolutionist party and appealed the true revolutionary forces and patriots to unite together. He further accused MC of surrendering to UML by bringing unity proposal.

He further said that Naya Shakti Coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai joining the communist alliance was meaningless since Bhattarai had already announced abandoning the path of communism years ago.

“The alliance among the leftist forces is irrelevant indeed,” said Gajurel.

“In fact, the alliance is a network of the corrupt parties. There is no single true communist in the alliance. The leftist alliance is not going to prove beneficial for the nation,” he added.

Stating that the unity effort between the two large leftist forces of the country has caused trouble to Nepali Congress, he added that the NC has started looking for panchas in this restlessness.

Kathmandu: CPN-Maoist vice-chairman CP Gajurel has said that his party was ready to join the government and Constituent Assembly (CA) provided that the interim constitution was amended to ensure proper representation of his party.
Speaking at a face-to-face interaction programme organised by Reporters Club Nepal today, he ruled out joining the CA through the appointment of 26 seats through the cabinet.
Claiming that it was not possible for them to join the CA through existing provision, he urged the political parties to be flexible on amending the interim constitution.
During the programme held under the presidency of the Club’s president Rishi Dhamala, Gajurel also said that the discussions among the parties were underway on what status and position should his party be given after the CA polls.
“We are ready to play a role in drafting the constitution joining the CA if the political parties agree on it,” Gajurel said.
Asked by the journalists about the number of seats that the CPN-Maoist would seek in the CA, he said that the discussions on this regard were going on. He however, hinted that they would demand equal number of seats equal to those of all parties who won the election, saying that the country has polarised on two sides- one participating polls and another boycotting it.
He said that only seeking suggestions from his party for the constitution drafting without taking them to the CA would be unacceptable.  We will promulgate the constitution through the street protest if our party will be kept outside the CA, he warned.
On a separate context, Gajurel also said that unity with the UCPN (Maoist) was impossible now. “The discussions for working alliance with the UCPN (Maoist) were held when the UCPN (Maoist) first come to us saying that there was vote rigging to defeat them and they would not join the upcoming CA. However, they have now decided to hold the victory rally with a U-turn of 180 degree. Even the working alliance is impossible now, let alone a party unity. ”

Kathmandu: CPN-Maoist vice-chairman CP Gajurel has said that the nationwide 10-day long bandha called by the CPN-Maoist-led 33-party alliance from November 11 could be shortened depending on the circumstances.
Speaking at a face-to-face interaction programme organised by Reporters Club Nepal, Gajurel claimed that the ‘success’ of the bandha on November 11 will force the government to postpone the election. “This success may not require us to continue with the bandha programme,” Gajurel said. He also said if the government does not postpone the polls even after the bandha of November 11, they will come up with extra protest programmes through a meeting of the 33-party alliance on the same day.
He vowed to not allow the voters to come to the polling booths at any cost. “The government remarks to bring the voters at the booth at the behest of gun is an act of making the people prisoner than making them sovereign,” Gajurel argued.According to Gajurel, bandha will be continued on the day of election to stop the voters from reaching polling booths if the government decides to move ahead with its election plan.
“Bandha would not be completely withdrawn. We will chart out a new strategy assessing the bandha of the first day and the political circumstances. Bandha will get continuity if the government attitude remains as it is and the polls are not postpones,” he said. Bandha on 11 November will be historic one, where even a bicycle will also not be allowed plying in the street.
Stating that the peoples have accepted the bandha of 19 days during the peoples’ movement, he claimed that public will not oppose their 10-day long bandha programmes. He, however, said that bandha will not be imposed if peoples make such request.

Reiterating that they will not raise arms and make the bandha violent, Gajurel accused the state of pushing them towards the violence.  “Political parties want us to be underground, but we will not,” he said.
Informing that they have hold talks with the high level army officials, Gajurel said that the high level officials have told that they are not deployed to suppress them. He claimed that the army mobilisation for the security for the polls could create terror among the people which will ultimately serve their purpose of boycott programmes.
Gajurel warned that the CA, formed from this election despite their protests, cannot draft the constitution. “Even the constitution is drafted, we will burn it,” he threatened.
During the programme, Gajurel came down heavily against the international communities’ statement against his party’s bandha programme. Gajurel claimed the statement of the UN including international community has validated their accusation that the foreigners want constitution more than the people. Gajurel said that the statement has ‘exposed the foreign interference’ in Nepal’s internal affairs. “Either to postpone the elections or the way elections are held here, it is our internal matters. Foreigners do not need to be instructive,” he said, and added, “The statement that bandha is against law was itself against UN’s norms.”

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Vice Chairman CP Gajurel has said that his party would not accept the proposed political rountable talks, if it is not provisioned constitutionally.

Speaking at the Reporters’ Club here today, Gajurel said that participating in a “private” round-table conference would yield no fruits due to lack of legitimacy.

Leader Gajurel also urged the President to facilitate the roundtable conference while speaking at the program presided by the Club’s President Rishi Dhamala.

However, he said that that four major political forces should ready to defer the November 19 elections if they opt the elections with consensus.

He further said that the contentions regarding the current government and poll date deferral could be sorted through the roundtable conference.

He claimed that the nation could face confrontation if the army is mobilized to hold the purported elections. “Nobody can support elections held mobisling army force,” he added.

Mobilising army is declaring state emergency, he said adding, “At that time the nation could not get elections but face confrontation.”

NEPALGUNJ: Vice-chairman of CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel has said that only an all-side roundtable conference would provide a unanimous foundation for the CA elections and new constitution making.

Speaking at a press conference organised by Revolutionary Journalists’ Federation, Banke chapter here on Tuesday, he said, “We do not want to make the roundtable conference only our agenda, it must be a consensus and common agenda of all the parties”.

Reiterating his party’s decision not to take part in the CA elections if the demands were not met, leader Gajurel warned of boycotting the elections if it were to be held by force.

He also accused the UCPN-Maoist party of working to ‘sikkimize’ and ‘bhutanize’ Nepal in the pretext of elections.

“There is no possibility of unification with the UCPN-Maoist, now all doors to it have been shut”, he said in response to a query on the same from journalists.

ITAHARI:  CPN-Maoist Vice-chairman CP Gajurel said that CA election was possible after holding a round table conference by scrapping the 25-point order issued by the President to pave way for the CJ-led government and 11-point agreement signed by major political parties.

He said the agitating parties are sure to boycott the poll as their concerns were not addressed.

Talking to journalists here today, Gajurel said there was no possibility of CA election in the present time as the major political parties and the government was not in mood to address the agitating parties’ demands.

He also compared the upcoming CA election with the staging a drama.

As talks with precondition will not bring results, we have said we will only sit for talks without precondition, he said. As they stage a drama of talks and on the other hand move ahead election programme, we will in no way not allow election , he added.

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Vice Chairman CP Gajurel has said that announcement of the fresh CA election is equal to announcement to next conflict in the country.

Speaking at an interaction in Reporters’ Club today, Gajurel said, “Announcement of poll is beginning of next conflict.”
He also said that four major political parties are preparing for such conflict.

Club’s Chairman Rishi Dhamala presided over the program.

He also claimed that New Delhi is exerting pressure on leaders of four parties to hold the CA election by November.

Gajurel however claimed that the polls to be conducted by sidelining some half dozen political parties including the CPN-Maoist would be worthless.

Gajurel said, “Lets not push the country towards confrontation to appease Delhi.”

He clearly said that the CPN-Maoist would boycott such election. “Election conducted forcefully would be unacceptable for us.” he warned.

In a separate context, Gajurel also claimed that the chapter of party unification with the UCPN (Maoist) has closed.
“Party unification with UCPN (Maoist) is impossible,” Gajurel added.

KATHMANDU: At a time when the political parties and civil society leaders are prodding the government and four major political parties to bring on board talks to the dissenting political parties including the CPN-Maoist and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal, Vice-chairman of CPN-Maoist CP Gajurel today ruled out possibilities of such talks until the government revokes all pacts signed during the formation of the current government.

Speaking at an interaction program organized by Reporters Club in the capital today, Gajurel said his party would not hold talks even with the President until the current government was dissolved and fresh commitment to forming new government through a roundtable conference.

Club’s Chairman Rishi Dhamala presided over the program.

The hardliner CPN-Maoist Vice-chairman said his party would sit for talks only the 11-point agreement signed by four major political parties and the 25-point and 25-point issued by the President for removing constitutional difficulties were scrapped.

Gajurel further said that the 11-point agreement has left the country without constitution and this has led the country to totalitarianism.

Gajurel was of the view that elections to the CA are not likely even in November if current situation continues.
He also said that stopping the CA polls from happening in June was people’s victory.
