JANAKPURDHAM: Acting Chairman of CPN (ML-Socialist) Yadubansa Jha has joined the CPN (UML) today, a relief to Nepal’s quasi-communist party.

Earlier, Jha was associated with the UML prior to joining the CPN (ML). In his up and down political career, Jha and other leaders formed the CPN (ML-Socialist).

UML leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal and General Secretary Ishwar Pokhrel welcomed Jha in the UML at a program in Janakpur.

During the program, the UML leaders said that Jha would be given a suitable post in the UML.

On the occasion, Jha said that UML was the best selection for him as the party was working for the cause of people than any others.

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley Coordination Committee of the CPN-UML has started preparations for the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections from today.

The committee is organising an extensive cadres’ meeting of Kathmandu Valley today under the campaign.

The meeting was called to exert pressure to declare date for the CA election and to demonstrate unity among the party leaders and encourage the party cadres morally, said Secretary of the committee, Sanu Kumar Shrestha.

The UML would mobilize the party cadres raising the issues of public concern in the election campaign by learning lesson from the party’s defeat in the previous CA election, said Secretary Shrestha.

UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel, and Secretary Yubaraj Gyawali, among others, are scheduled to address the programme.

LALITPUR: CPN (UML) Chair Jhalanath Khanal has suggested UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ´Prachanda´ to go regularly for meditation and yoga.

Khanal further made a satire stating that the ongoing seventh national convention of the UCPN (Maoist) to endorse the need of Yoga and meditation for comrade Prachanda. Violence, conflict and war are the consequences of physical and mental causes and yoga and meditation are required for its alleviation.

The UML Chairperson also said that the Vedic knowledge would help end violence resulting from mental causes, Khanal was speaking at a program organized by the former parliamentarians on Tuesday.
