KATHMANDU, Aug 22: The CPN (Maoist Center) is to mobilize the entire party mechanism under the leadership of party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ for the upcoming third phase of local level election slated for September 18.

A meeting of the central office bearers held today at Dahal’s private residence in Lajimpat decided to this effect. An action plan will be prepared to mobilize the entire hierarchy, and make the party first in the polls while learning from the recently concluded two rounds of the elections, said Maoist Centre’s Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal.

Earlier for previous elections, the Maoist Centre had mobilised central representatives including leaders Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Ram Bahadur Thapa, Haribol Gajurel, Giriraj Mani Pokharel and Matrika Yadav.

Likewise, the meeting demanded that the government provides Rs 100,000 each to a family affected by the recent incidents of natural disasters–floods and landslides– as immediate relief, Rs 300,000 each to the bereaved family and Rs 500,000 each to the family of those displaced for rehabilitation.

The meeting also directed party hierarchy to help the flood victims. RSS

JANAKPURDHAM, Aug 2: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has expressed confidence that his party would get encouraging results in the third round of local level elections.

Speaking during a press conference organized on Wednesday by the RPP Dhanusha District Working Committee, Thapa said that his party has been preparing for the upcoming election with high priority.

He insisted that the government and the opposition parties should create an enabling environment for the agitating Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) to participate in the election, alleging that the Nepali Congress was conspiring to prevent the RJP’s participation in the election.

“The Nepali Congress is engaged in a premeditated manner to prevent the constitution amendment bill from being presented in the parliament for a decision.

The issue of the purported RPP lawmakers’ abstention at the time of passing the constitution bill in parliament is only the propaganda spread by the Nepali Congress and the CPN (Maoist Centre),” he said.

He further stated that the constitution amendment bill was not in any manner related to his party’s joining or not joining the government, reiterating that his party was not joining the Deuba-led government.
