Main opposition party UCPN-Maoist obstructs House

Kathamandu, August 18.  Major opposition party UCPN (Maoist) obstructed the Parliament on Monday demanding the declaration of ‘ national crisis ‘ in the wake of damages caused by flood and landslide across the country.

UCPN (M) and other opposition parties obstructed the normal proceedings of the House today. Speaking at the Parliament Meeting, UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal demanded that the government declare the state of ‘ national crisis ‘.

At least 98 people have been killed in incidents of flood and landslide across the county since Thursday while around 150 people were killed in the massive landslide in Sindhupalchowk district earlier this month.
