ICC World Cricket League Division-III:Nepal win by 10 runs



Kathmandu, October 28.  Nepal has won the rain-affected match against USA by 10 runs at the ICC World Cricket League Division-III played in Malaysia on Tuesday.

Nepal was batting in the 22nd over scoring 73 runs losing a single wicket when match officials had decided to stop the match due to rain. Nepal was declared winner as per the Duckworth–Lewis method as the match could not be completed because of rain.

USA gave a target of 224 runs against Nepal after winning the toss and deciding to bat first at Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur.

In the replay of the match, Fahad Babar scored a half-century and Timil Patel (39), Steven Taylor (36) and Muhammad Ghous (27 not out) contributed with the bat as USA completed their inning on 223 for nine wickets. Shakti Gauchan claimed three wickets giving away 30 runs while Sagar Pun and Basanta Regmi took two each.

With the win, Nepal has qualified for the final and has been promoted to Division II.
