Domestic help among three arrested for robbing house

KATHMANDU, APR 25: Police have arrested three persons for their involvement in robbing the house of Kebal Krishna Shrestha in Dholahiti, Lalitpur on Friday.
Jhilke Bahadur Moktan aka Bikram, 35, Binod Kumar Lama, 31, and Jilap Singh Blon, 31, of Makwanpur were held from separate places of the Kathmandu Valley on April 19.
According to the Metropolitan Police Circle, Satdobato, the trio was produced before Lalitpur District Court for prosecution.
Moktan and Lama had raided Shrestha’s house in the wee hours of April 19. They had robbed cash, jewellery and mobile phone sets worth around Rs 619,000.
The victim family were taken under control by the looters, who were wearing masks and brandishing pistols.
The looters are also said to have issued death and abduction threats to the Shrestha family in the name of previously unknown underground outfit ‘All Nepal Revolutionary Underground Organisation’ (Black Commando).
According to the MPC, Shrestha’s domestic help, Blon had passed information to Moktan and Lama. “Blon had ganged up with the duo to rob Shrestha’s house and share the cash,” the MPC informed.
Police have confiscated two pistols, five rounds of bullets, and gold and silver ornaments from the trio.
