Madhes-centric parties will come to agreement soon: Dahal

Kathmandu, Feb 1: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday expressed belief the parties agitating in Tarai-Madesh would soon come to an agreement.

At a press conference held at UCPN (Maoist) Central Office at Paris Danda, Dahal – who is also the High Level Political Coordination Committee (HLPC) Coordinator – said issues including the provincial border revision would be advanced through the HLPC and that solution would be had by three months.
Dahal refuted claims of agreement with Indian leaders before the promulgation of the new constitution.
Oli led national government
Dahal further said a national consensus government may be formed under the leadership of incumbent Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
He said a national consensus government was a must for facilitating the constitution’s implementation, and resolving the problems faced by the country.
Dahal further stressed on seeking Nepali Congress’s participation in the government and claimed of possibility of formation of such a unity government before the NC’s forthcoming 13th General Convention.
“A national consensus government must be formed,” Dahal insisted, adding “There should not be any delay on this regard.”
Baburam’s step suicidal
The UCPN (Maoist) termed Dr Baburam Bhattarai’s step to quit UCPN (Maoist) to form a ‘New Force’ by abandoning Marxism as ‘suicidal step’ and ‘completely wrong’.
