Death toll in Trishuli River bus crash climbs to 22



Chitwan, Aug 26: The death toll in the bus accident at Kalikhola of Chandibhanjyang along Narayangadh – Mugling road has reached 22. Twenty one were killed on the spot while another one injured died in the course of treatment at Chitwan Medical College, police said.

Police, however, continue the rescue operation, in suspicion that other four passengers might be still missing.
The Pokhara-bound bus (Ga 1 Kha 3709) skidded off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River today morning. The ill-fated bus had left Gaur for Pokhara with the total 30 passengers on board.

Of the total 16 injured, undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College and College of Medical Sciences at Chandranigahapur, six are reported to be in serious condition.

The deceased who have been identified include Chitarandan Yadav of Mudalawa-3, Rakesh Yadav of Laukaha, Brij Kishor Kushahawa of Katahariya-9, Pramod Ram of Mahamadpur-8, Ganesh Kumar Sah of Basantapur-1, Rajesh

Prasad Yadav of Mudalawa-6, Jokhu Sah of Gaur Municipality-12 and Jogendra Giri of Inaruwa-7.
Other deceased have been identified as Indian nationals Thekan Thakur and Shankar Thakur. All the deceased are aged between 30 and 60 years old. The identity of some more deceased is yet to be known, police said. RSS
