KATHMANDU, Feb 19: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced to reward Rs 300,000 each to the team members of the national cricket team.
Felicitating the cricketers at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday, the PM announced the cash prize to the Nepali cricketers and coaches for their outstanding performance in the recently held ICC World Cricket League Division Two in Namibia. Nepal topped the group with eight points from five matches to qualify for the ICC World Cricket Qualifiers to be held in Zimbabwe in March.
The amount would be handed over to the cricketers on coming Friday.
The Nepali players are leaving here for Zimbabwe coming Saturday for the World Cup Qualifier Games.
The PM will bid farewell to the Nepali cricketers along with the cash prize on the same day.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Madan Bhandari Sports Academy Binod Shrestha also announced to provide Rs 100,000 each to the Nepali cricketers and coaches.
