Interpol issues red corner notice against Manange

KATHMANDU, March 18: The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued a red corner notice against Rajib Gurung aka Deepak Manange, who is on the run following an arrest order by the Supreme Court on January 16.

The notice was issued at the initiative of Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal police. The issuance of red corner notice means police of 192 members countries of Interpol will be searching for Manange.

The police have intensified the search, through the Interpol, for fugitive Provincial Assembly member Rajib Gurung, known as Dipak Manange, said Nepal Police’s Spokesperson Manoj Neupane.

Manange, a murder convict, won a PA seat from Manang province (B) in the recently held elections to the Province Assemblies.

The court convicted and sentenced Manange to five years in prison upholding the verdict of the then Appellate Court in his case.

The Interpol red corner notice means, Police of 192 member countries will be searching for Manange.

“A search has been up for Manange at home and abroad,” said Neupane.
