Samajbadi Congress to launch agitation against corruption, federalism

KATHMANDU, May 21: Nepal Samajbadi Congress is set to launch protest against federalism, secularism and corruption.

At a news conference organized by the Samajbadi Congress on Monday, party Chairman Bimal Prasad Yadav said that they announced agitation to establish constitutional democracy, reinstate Hindu nation and pursue national prosperity.

He claimed that people could not get their rights as the government is becoming autocrat lately.

Similarly, Party General Secretary Govinda Niraula blamed the government for preventing peaceful agitations in recent period. “The government did not pay attention to basic rights of the people. So we will launch a stern but peaceful agitation against it.”

The party had distributed pamphlets at 52 different places, protesting against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s State visit to Nepal on May 11. Police had arrested cadres of the Samajbadi including central committee member Parbati Thapa on the same day and released them after six days.

Likewise, New Baneshwor-based the party office of the Samajbadi Congress that was closed from May 11 after police seized party documents opened today. RSS
