Nepal flood

INAURWA, July 15: Water level in Saptakoshi river has been recorded the highest of this monsoon on Saturday.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Narayan Prasad Chimariya, the water flow measured at 9:15 last night was 215,970 cusecs.

Along with the rise in water and flow, 29 of the 52 flood gates at Koshi barrage have been opened, while a red light has been put on indicating a sign of danger.

The red light of caution is put on after water flow crosses 150,000 cusecs. Despite rise in water flow in Saptakoshi following incessant rainfall for the past few days, there is no imminent danger to life and property in Sunsari, said Chief District Officer of Sunsari Prem Prakash Upreti.

The capacity for water flow through the Koshi barrage is 500,000 cusecs, hence it is not a matter of concern at the moment. RSS
