Deuba throws weight on CA resurrection
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress senior leader and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the dissolved constituent assembly should be reinstated to promulgate the constitution.
Speaking at a greetings exchange programme organised by the Reporters Club Nepal in the capital on Saturday, Deuba said that CA reinstatement was not been called for receiving allowances and power game.
“The CA should be reinstated even for a single day to promulgate the constitution,” Deuba said. He claimed that CA reinstatement was even inevitable for amending the Interim Constitution to hold general or CA elections.
Deuba’s statement has been contradicting his party president’s stand of not reviving the CA as recently proposed by the ruling coalition-FDRA.
