Nepal ruling allies expand network to confront opposition’s agitation

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s ruling allies — Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA)- has decided to expand their alliance to the district level.

Presently the ruling allies have limited their cooperation and alliance to the central level.

A meeting of the party members of the alliance took such a decision on Thursday as a strategical response to opposition parties’ recent announcement to launch nation wide agitation against the Bhattarai led government.

“ The meet decided to expand the coalition to district level by forming a district committee coordinated by the UCPN-Maoist,” informed FDRA spokesman Prem Bahadur Singh.

Opposition parties have decided to launch nation wide protests from 20 of this month in the leadership of Nepali Congress and CPN UML to topple the Bhattarai governemnt and form national consensus government that would hold CA elections.
