Nepal’s PM hopeful of MDGs
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that indices of the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) achieved so far despite the political uncertainty in the country are satisfactory.
The PM said this while inaugurating the MDG Acceleration Framework (MAF) for Sanitation in the capital today. He Prime Minister Bhattarai said that the government is committed to achieving the MDGs.
The statistics show that every year, some 10,500 children under-five years of age die of diarrhea, he said out of the patients visiting the Out patients Department (OPD) of the hospitals in the country, 80 per cent of them are victims of water and sanitation related diseases.
