UML invites leaders to discuss ways to anti-government protests
KATHMANDU: In its bid to expedite anti-government protests, opposition CPN (UML) is calling a special meeting of the central leaders and leading cadres at the party’s central office, Balkhu, today.
Party’s central committee members, advisers, chief of party’s sister wing and other leading cadres have been informed to attend the meeting, a party source said.
UML top leaders including party chairman jhalanath Khanal, KP Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal are likely to direct the cadres and central committee members to make the anti-government demonstrations stern.
The UML leaders have been criticizing the Maoist-led government heavily and have warned to topple the incumbent government through the street protests.
On Saturday also, UML Chairman Khanal warned of waging a people’r war against the Maoists if the Maoist-led government did not call it quits.
