Badhshala banned
KATHMANDU: A promising Nepali film that was expected to add much energy to the almost sick Kollywood has been banned for its depiction to the torture inflicted by the Nepal Army personnel.
The Ministry of Defence on Sunday wrote to the Ministry of Information and Communications, a line ministry to look after the issues pertaining to films, to ban the screening of Badhshala. The Ministry of Defence has stated that screening of the film was banned as it has not taken permission for using army’s uniform in the film shooting.
But the Film Director Manoj Pandit said defence ministry’s letter was just a fuss.”This has challenged my freedom of expression and artistic right. I will seek justice from the court,” Pandit said.
