Political confrontation likely, Poudel says
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel has warned that the people’s mobilization programs announced by the ruling parties could invite political confrontation as the NC and CPN (UML) have already chosen the streets to launch the anti-government stir.
“The ruling parties coming on the streets while the oppositions launching the protest is like Panchayat style,” Poudel said.
Speaking at a press meet organized by the Nepal Press Union Baglung chapter today, the NC leader said the Maoists would be collapsed if they retaliate the opposition parties’ anti-government demonstrations.
“All will be decided from the streets. We have opted for the street protest to compel the government for holding CA elections,” he added. An NC led government was the only alternative for free and fair CA elections, Poudel reiterated.
