Cine artistes beginning fast unto death

KATHMANDU: The cine artistes are all set to start a fast unto death from today after the government paid a deaf ear to their demands. The artistes have demanded that the government to scrap the decision to appoint Dharmendra Marwaita ‘Pappu’ as the chairman of the Film Development Board, provision of box office and others.

The artistes have reasoned that Pappu does not deserve the post and he is not a mainstream artiste. Seven artistes would start the fast unto death from 12 this afternoon at the presence of civil society leaders and journalists, according to Film Artistes Association Nawal Khadka.
