People have supported us in anti-govt agitation: UML boss
KATHMANDU: Optimistic CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has said people have supported the oppositions’ anti-government demonstrations.
“This is the right time to unseat the Baburam Bhattarai-led government through the street protests. This government is trying its best to impose authoritarianism,” the UML boss said.
At a time when the ruling parties’ leaders are saying that the opposition parties would not get the power until they join the current coalition government, the CPN (UML) Chairman claimed that the present agitation was not for remaining at the helm of power. Khanal was speaking at a program organized by the UML’s loyalist journalists’ association– Press Chautari Nepal– on its 15th founding day on Monday.
The opponent parties are preparing for a demonstration in the capital on February 8.
