‘Big four very near to consensus on CJ-led government’

KATHMANDU: Leaders of major political parties have claimed that they have reached a consensus regarding an election government, UCPN (Maoist) leader and member of the political taskforce Krishna Bahadur Mahara told reporters.

The leaders said this after holding discussions with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav this afternoon.

During the meeting with the President, the leaders said that they were preparing to constitute the election government under the leadership of Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi.

Earlier, top leaders of the four major political forces had reached the Office of the President in a bid to give a final touch to the parties’ bid for formation of the new government.

The major political parties are preparing to form the new government prior to final verdict of the Supreme Court on March 7.
