Nepal’s home minister bats for free and fair CA poll



Kathmandu: Home Minister of Nepal’s Interim Election Council of Ministers Madhav Prasad Ghimire said the holding fresh CA poll was current government’s single goal.

The government, all cabinet ministers consisting of former government secretaries, was constituted to hold a free and fair CA election, he said while speaking at the 11th anniversary of the National Dalit Commission in Lalitpur today.

He also batted for the formulation of the Racial Discrimination and Untouchability Regulations to make the Commission stronger.

Ghimire was of the opinion that ending racial discrimination and untouchability as such activities were against the humanity.

During the program, Commission’s former chairs Padam Singh BK, Tek Tamrakar, Dhansar Bishwokarma and Ram Ratan Harijan were feted for their contribution to country’s Dalit movement.
