Office-bearers administered oath of office and secrecy

KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Chief Election Commissioner and four Commissioners have been sworn in amid separate programs today.

Acting Chief Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma administered oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner Nil Kantha Uprety at the presence of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav while Uprety administered oath to Dolakh Bahadur Gurung, Ayodhi Prasad Yadav, Ila Sharma and Ram Bhakta PB Thakur.

After administering oath, Chief Election Commissioner Upreti and other commissioners have assumed their offices from today itself.

After the appointment of the office-bearers at the EC, the government is expected to fix the date for CA elections.
