UML to go for elections with wholeheartedly



KATHMANDU: The CPN (UML), a moderate communist party of Nepal, on Wednesday decided to devote the party’s entire strength to make the upcoming CA polls a success. The party has also demanded the government immediately fix the date for fresh CA polls.

A standing committee meeting of the UML held at the party headquarters also asked the party organization and leaders to work for polls wholeheartedly across the country.

However, the UML also demanded the decisions made by the Baburam Bhattarai-led government be scrapped to ensure a free and fair elections, UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel said after the meeting.

The UML has called its politburo meeting two weeks later to discuss the party’s preparations for the upcoming CA elections.

Similarly, the meeting also rejected the resignation tendered by party politburo member Ram Chandra Jha. The meeting has asked leader Jha to join the party’s duty as usual.
