Nepal’s hardliner Maoist denies negotiation with govt and parties

Nepal CPN Maoist Mohan Baidya Kiran

KATHMANDU: The Mohan Baidya led CPN Maoist party has announced to boycott all talks called by the government and four major political parties.

The party’s response came some hours after the incumbent Interim Election Cabinet formed a talks-team in the leadership of Home Minister Madhav Prasad Ghimire.

” We won’t participate in the talks unless the decisions taken by the four major political parties through syndicate politics are scrapped,” Baidya said while addressing a program in Bhaktapur on Saturday.

Baidya said that the 11 point understanding between political parties and the government, and decision to form a CJ led government are scrapped.

” We will go for elections only if all these decisions are scrapped and a new government is formed from within political parties,” Baidya said adding, ” or else we will launch new protest programs after the present one.”

He slammed the four political parties stating that they have been excluding the 33 political parties.
