NC lauds 1 pc threshold provision
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has lauded the Election Commission’s provision of making mandatory to secure at least one percent vote for any political party of total valid votes to be eligible to get seats under the proportional representative electoral system.
At an all-party meeting chaired by Chief of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi, NC leader Dr Minendra Rijal appreciated the provision claiming that only this provision would ensure representation of indigenous, adibasi and Madhesi women in the CA.
Rijal said all Nepalis having citizenship certificate should be missed in the voters’ list– a major door to cast their ballot.
