Government not to announce date for CA polls in haste

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Interim Election Council Chairman Khil Raj Regmi has said the government would not announce the elections date in haste despite political parties’ pressure for doing the same.

At a program in the capital on Monday, Regmi said elections are not possible only by lip-service  “I am from a legal background. I know delayed justice is no justice. But, the government will not annoucne CA in an immature manner,” he said.

He also said that CA elections were not possible until the dissenting political parties were not ready to take part in the fresh polls.

Earlier, the Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda had said that the government’s relevance would no longer exist if it delays to announce the date for CA polls.
