NC not to make polls alliance nationwide
BANKE: At a time when the leaders of major political parties are hinting at political alliance in the upcoming CA polls, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala also did not ruled out the idea but only said that there would be an understanding among the political parties to secure victory of top leaders of major political parties.
“Nepali Congress will not make an alliance nationwide,” he said at a press meet in his home town in Nepalgunj this morning.
He also said that the CA polls would be held in November and urged all political parties to participate in the polls by shunning their partisan interests.
He also said that maximum efforts would be made to bring Mohan Baidhya and Upendra Yadav on board the high-level political committee.
The Baidhya-led CPN-Maoist has been warning to boycott the CA polls under the current circumstances while the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal is in talks with the government hoping a conducive environment for elections.
