KATHMANDU: Nepal’s political parties have rushed the Election Commission (EC) today to renew and register the parties at the EC to ensure their participation in the upcoming CA polls.
Earlier, the EC had issued a notice on Monday calling the parties for their renewal and register the new parties.
Leaders of the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal including others reached the EC at 10:00 am with their cadres to renew their parties.
But, the renewal process was delayed after the cadres of UML and Maoists clashed over their turn as both the parties claimed their first turn. The political party registered at first would secure its election symbol on the top of the ballot paper.
