Chiranjivi Nepal appointed chief economic advisor of MoF



KATHMANDU: The meeting of the Council of Ministers held today has appointed economist Dr. Chiranjivi Nepal as chief economic advisor of the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting also decided to send the Revenue Leakage Investigation and Control Regulations- 2070 BS to the bills committee and will be implemented if approved, said Ministry for Information and Communications, Madhav Poudel.

The meeting also gave consent to sign agreement on loans of Rs 70 million US dollars for the Tanahu Hydropower Ltd.

The government also decided to form a talks team in connection with IDA providing Rs 39 million dollars to the government for the Nepal-India Transmission Line project.

The meeting also decided to recommend to President the amendment bills on anti-money laundering and crime related property and means after being passed by the bills committee, as per Nepal’s commitment to anti- money laundering and controlling financing of terrorist activities.

A team has been formed from the government for talks with ADB for skill development projects and Rs. 1.72 billion will be received.
