Prachanda gets invitation from opponent leaders to contest election in Sarlahi

KATHMANDU: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda who has repeatedly announced to contest from ‘core Madhes’ constituency in the upcoming CA polls has received invitations from the leaders of opponent political parties too in Sarlahi Constituency No. 1.

At a meeting with the locals in Sarlahi this morning, Nepali Congress leader Narayan Pokhrel, district chief of Nepal Majdoor Party Govinda Mahat and others urged Prachanda to contest from the region adding that they would support Prachanda’s candidacy wholeheartedly.

“We lack a strong leader from this region to contest the elections. We invite you (Prachanda) irrespective of our political beliefs,” locals said.

In response, the former Prime Minister and UCPN (Maoist) supremo said he has not decided so far for his candidacy in the upcoming polls though it was sure to contest from the Madhes.
