President Yadav, Regmi discuss issue of Lokman Singh

KATHMANDU: Amid political division and tug of war regarding Lokman Singh Karki’s recommendation as the chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and Chairman of Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi today held discussions at the former’s office in Shital Niwas.

As the chief of the Constitutional Council, Regmi appraised of CC’s decision to recommend Karki as the chief commissioner.

It is said that President Yadav is consulting legal experts and his close aides as a section of media  and the activists have piled pressure on the President to reject Karki’s appointment citing that Karki was one of the guilty officials of the historic people’s movement-II.

However, sources said that President Yadav has given a green signal to Regmi to endorse the CC”s decision.
