UAE stops Nepal’s winning streak in ACC-U19 Cricket World Cup
KATHMANDU: The United Arab Emirates on Friday denied Nepal the chance to play in the finals of U-19 Cricket World Cup by defeating it by 76 runs.
Nepal’s team was restricted to 195 runs at 46.1 overs by the UAE team during the 2013 semi finals played at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur.
Batting first Nepal were given a target of 272-run. But Nepali batsman and bowlers failed to keep up their recent flair in today’s match.
From Nepali bowlers Avinash Karn took three wickets at an economy rate of 6.50. Bhuvan Karki, Sushant Bhari, Yagyaman Kumal and Nischal Pandey took a wicket each.
From the batsman, Shorye Chopra contributed 115 runs from 115 balls by smashing 17 fours and a sixes.
Prior to this, Nepal has won the title four times. Nepal will contend Malaysia for the third position on Saturday.
