Prachanda challenges Makune to prove Maoist hand in Amar Lama murder

CHITWAN: Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has said Amar Lama was not killed by the UCPN-Maoist.

Inaugurating the 33rd anniversary of the Himalayan Higher Secondary School at Geetanagar on Tuesday, Chairman Dahal refuted an accusation by an UML leader on the party, questioning if there were any proof the UCPN-Maoist was involved in the Lama’s murder.

On a different note, he urged all not to doubt the election to the Constituent Assembly. Leader Dahal further said in his recent discussion with the Chairman of the election Council of Ministers, they have informally agreed to announce election date within few days.

The Himalayan Higher Secondary School has now been renamed Himalayan Dandapani Neupane Higher Secondary School after the families of Danda Pani Neupane donated Rs 3.5 million to the school at a dhannyanchal mahayagya- a religious ceremony.

Neupane, then central member of the Maoist party, was made disappeared by the State during the insurgency.
