5 mountaineers died while descending from Kanchanjunga



KATHMANDU: Five mountaineers died in course of returning after a successful ascent to Kanchanjung Mountain in Taplejung district.

The incident took place on May 20 and the deceased include two Nepalis, two Hungarians and a South Korean.

Diwas Gurng and Fu dorji Sherpa from Shankhuwasabha died at an altitude of 7,500 meters, according to Mingma Sherpa, Chief of the Seven Summit Agency.

The bodies of the deceased is yet to be brought back to the base camp due to adverse weather conditions, obstructing helicopter from landing at the accident site, said Sherpa.
