Parties to blame for delayed polls date announcement, Minister Shrestha says
KATHMANDU:Minister for Youth and Sports Ram Kumar Shrestha has said the declaration of the CA election date has been delayed due to the disagreement among parties.
At an interaction on ´Youth participation in CA´ organized here today by the Nepal Independent Youth Association, he said the main cause of delay is lack of agreement among parties. They could not forge consensus on threshold and candidacy in election, he said.

The government formed for election will not engage in political strategies and it does not care whether the declaration benefits one or the party. We are discussing with parties, as declaration without necessary infrastructure will be immature, he added.
The minister also said the youths should come to national politics without shouldering the parties.
Shrestha said the Ministry Of Sports And Youth could not make effective programmes for lack of budget and is thinking of forming a National Youth Council.
Nepal Independent Youth Association Chairman Bishal Gaire said the stakeholders should be serious to implement the national youth policy even after passing of four years.
