Sushil Koirala heads to Bandipur sidelining HLPC meeting

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the High-Level Political Committee (HLPC) held today did not even entered into the main agendas as the Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala did not attend the meeting.

The meeting was expected to discuss the ordinance on the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections tabled by the Election Commission (EC).

Koirala has left for Bandipur, Tanahun, to attend a program of the Nepal Press Union, NC affiliated journalists’ organization.

Presence of top leaders of all four political powers is expected to take a decision on crucial political issues.

After the meeting, UCPN (Maoist) General Secretary Posta Bahadur Bogati said no achievement was made in today’s meeting in absence of NC chief Koirala.

Likewise, NC Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel the next meeting of the HLPC meeting to be held on Wednesday would reach a conclusion.

Bogati said the CA election date should be announced within three days to hold the election by mid-December
