Rae new Indian ambassador to Nepal
KATHMANDU: Ranjit Rae has been appointed the new Ambassador of India to Nepal.
Rae joined Indian Foreign Service in 1980 and is presently the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam.
Rae is expected to take up his assignment in Kathmandu shortly, according to the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
The term of present Indian Ambassador Jayant Prasad comes to an end in coming August.
Meanwhile, the Government of Nepal has presented the agreemo of approval of Rae’s appointment to the Office of the President.
“The agreemo of the new Indian Ambassador is likely to be approved next week”, said a senior official at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on the condition of anonymity.
