Indigenous communities demand fair share in upcoming CA



KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi has urged all parties to be active to make the November 19 CA poll a success.

Inaugurating the a meeting of the Indigenous Nationalities Promotion National Foundation in the capital today, Regmi asked different political parties, organization and communities to actively work for the CA election.

Saying that the seat proportion of the CA would be finalized through discussions with the political parties, Regmi said indigenous communities should play crucial roles in the election.

However, the leaders of indigenous communities said that the present proportion of seat in the CA was not acceptable to them. They was of the view that participation of indigenous communities should be ensured no matter the CA size are larger.
