KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that election was the only tool to end the country’s protracted deadlock.

“New constitution will end the deadlock. Constitution without election will not be long lasting and democratic,” the NC leader said at a program in the capital today.

Addressing the program organized by the BP Chintan Foundation, he said that country has not developed as BP Koirala thought it to be some three decades ago.

Deuba also said that people’s frustration towards communists was rising as they failed to deliver their tall promises.

Deuba also accused the CPN-Maoist of not being honest to the election process. Those fearing the election never could be pro-people, he said.
