‘Further crisis in the country if CA election not conducted’

UCPN Maoist Haribol Gajurel

KATHMANDU: UCPN (Maoist) leader Haribol Gajurel has said the nation would be pushed into uncertainty if the upcoming Constituent Assembly election was not held on November 19.

Speaking in a press meet organised by the Revolutionary Journalists Association, Kanchanpur, in Mahendranagar on Monday, the UCPN (Maoist) leader said the nation would plunge into a grave crisis if the election could not take place in the announced date, underlining the need of unity among all the political forces to prevent the nation from witnessing further crisis.

He accused the CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya of fearing possible defeat in the upcoming election and thereby not wanting the election and added efforts were being made to convince the party to join the election.

The CPN-Maoist wants to join hands with the former king and boycott the election which is just an attempt to catch fish in murky waters and would in the end backfire the party, he added.

He was here in course of the party’s one-month long election campaign. “We are reaching to people’s door not for seeking their votes, but to know their views about the election”, he said.
